Public record: Board Meeting 2024 - OoS1

This is a Public Record of the Australian Building Codes Board meeting held on 28 February 2024.

Meeting opening and administrative matters

• The meeting opened with Acknowledgment of Country.
• The Board noted attendance, apologies, and disclosure of interests any potential or actual conflicts related to matters on the agenda.

NCC 2025 PCD Board draft

• The Board considered proposed amendments to NCC 2025.
• The Board agreed to recommend that the Building Ministers Meeting endorse the release of the NCC 2025 Public Comment Draft for a two-month public consultation period from 1 May 2024 to 30 June 2024.

Release of impact analysis

• The Board agreed to recommend that the Building Ministers Meeting (BMM) endorse release of the following impact analyses, in conjunction with the release of the NCC 2025 Public Comment Draft (PCD):
  • a. Commercial energy efficiency – Consultation Regulation Impact Statement (RIS)
  • b. Waterproofing and water shedding – Consultation RIS 
  • c. Condensation mitigation – impact analysis
  • d. Female public sanitary facilities – impact analysis.

NCC 2025 PCD update and advice for BMM

• The Board noted PCD that PCD will be published on 1 May 2024 and consultation will be open until 30 June 2024 (subject to endorsement by BMM).
