Assessment of building and construction systems across Australia

On 30 June 2017, the Building Ministers’ Forum (BMF) agreed to commission independent experts to examine the broader compliance and enforcement problems within the building and construction systems affecting the implementation of the NCC.

Professor Peter Shergold and Ms Bronwyn Weir have been appointed to conduct this assessment.

About the BMF

The BMF is a body of Commonwealth, State and Territory Ministers responsible for building and plumbing policy and regulation. As such, the BMF is responsible for overseeing and giving strategic direction to the work of the ABCB. The BMF may also consider other related policy issues impacting on building industries.
