Frequently Asked Questions

NCC Tutor is a product designed for education providers to deliver as part of a course or as a standalone course.

In Part 3.12 in Volume Two of the NCC it gives two options for compliance. One option is to achieve an energy rating (or star rating) using house energy rating software. The other option is to comply with the requirements listed under the Part for building fabric, external glazing, building sealing, air movement and services.

Note: the requirements for services must be complied with even when an energy rating is used. Further information can be found in the NCC Volume Two Energy Efficiency Resource Kit.

NCC Tutor is a licensed ABCB product for the use of education providers.

In Section D, Part D3 of NCC Volume One. This covers aspects such as when a building is required to be accessible, how it is to be accessed, accessible carparking, signage and hearing augmentation.

Note: The requirements for accessible sanitary facilities can be found in Part F2.4 and accessible lifts in Part E3. Further information can be found in the NCC Volume One Disability Access Resource Kit.

In Part 3.7 of Volume Two of the NCC it outlines the requirements for fire safety. It details the prescriptive requirements for fire separation, smoke alarms, heating appliances, bushfire and alpine areas. Further information can be found in the NCC Volume Two Fire Safety Resource Kit.

Products formerly listed on the WaterMark Schedule of Excluded Products that are now listed on the WaterMark Schedule of Products and require WaterMark certification, must attain certification within 24 months of 1 August 2017. To achieve WaterMark certification for your product you will need to contact a WaterMark Conformity Assessment Body to undertake the certification process.
