Control of Smoke Spread Through Penetrations

Project output - Scoping study on whether there is a need for the BCA to address smoke spread through penetrations in building elements

This project considers the extent to which smoke that could pass through a service penetration in a building element required to have an FRL and whether it may present a risk to occupants on the unexposed side of the building element. This matter was raised through the consideration of referencing the new version of AS 1530.4 and submissions made to the ABCB and other parties by manufacturers of fire collars.
