Performance of Private Bushfire Shelters Report 1: Modified discomfort index


This report details the research undertaken when testing the requirements set out in the Private Bushfire Shelters Performance Standard. The research presented in this report was used to set the benchmarks for tenability and time criteria for the draft quantification of P2.3.5 in the public comment draft of 2019 NCC Volume Two. It covers human response to an internal thermal environment of a constant Modified Discomfort Index of 39°C.
