Feedback and Engagements
The ABCB recently wrapped up the public consultation period for the NCC 2019 Public Comment Draft and related Consultation Regulation Impact Statements (RIS).
Thank you to all who provided feedback on the proposed changes for NCC 2019. Your feedback is important as it enables us to develop codes that contribute to better building and plumbing outcomes for Australia.
The ABCB received around 3,500 individual comments on the NCC 2019 public comment drafts.
The feedback received through the public comment process will be considered by the ABCB’s Building Codes Committee and Plumbing Code Committee at their meetings in July 2018. Consideration of comment at those meetings will result in revised drafts of NCC 2019 for Board endorsement in November 2018.
In addition, RIS' will be revised in light of stakeholder comments and presented to the Board for input into its decision-making process regarding the affected changes.
Meanwhile, new and improved processes for stakeholders to provide feedback online will be considered for future consultation processes.
- The preview of NCC 2019 will be available for download from February 2019.
- NCC 2019 will be adopted by each State and Territory from 1 May 2019.
